Copper carries the receptive energies of the wise Grandmother Earth, teaching us to walk in balance with nature.
The Resistex copper yarn mixed with other yarns is able to provide or increase the performance of well-being and antibacterial properties of all the fibers and to make textile projects even more technical and unique. Nature is able to provide us with everything we need in different forms.
The Copper Thread
Incorporating a copper thread into any textile project brings numerous technical characteristics linked to the world of well-being.
In fact, copper yarn has unique properties: the antistatic property, i.e. the ability to disperse the electrical charges accumulated in the environment, metabolic properties that help the body stay healthy, antioxidant properties that fight free radicals and prevent aging skin and finally the thermoregulating and transpiring properties accelerating the process of evaporation of sweat and maintenance of body temperature. The technology with which the yarn was constructed, in addition to leaving the properties unchanged over time and after countless washings, allows the benefits of copper to be transmitted to the human body through the skin and not just through the water or the food we eat: it’s called cuprotherapy.
Cuprotherapy is the therapeutic use of copper or its salts. Copper jewels were already used 6000 years before Christ, and among those who recommended them to improve health we find Aristotle, Galen, Hippocrates and Avicenna. A survey of 300 arthritis sufferers who were made to wear copper bracelets found that a “significant number” of them said they benefited from the bracelet. Furthermore, the controls showed that the bracelets had lost 50 mg in a period of 50 days. Copper wire as an antibacterial agent Resistex® Copper fights germs and bacteria potentially harmful to human health: it is antibacterial, i.e. capable of inhibiting bacterial growth. Metals such as copper and silver are known as bactericidal agents and the effect is due to their action on the cell wall of the microorganism. This property helps reduce odors caused by bacteria.
